Hair Loss Treatment, Around the World!

hair loss treatmentPeople across the world for many generations have been looking for that elusive hair loss treatment cures. Back then, a healthy head of hair is a symbol of power and virility. So, the quest for the perfect hair loss treatment went on for centuries and centuries.

All around the world, people have found their own hair loss remedies. They came up with their own unique hair loss treatment.  Here are some astonishing, bizarre and out of the ordinary ways.

In China they use a kidney tonic and acupuncture. Acupuncture is a complex therapy that was developed by the Chinese over 2,000 years ago.  It is a therapy used to prevent disease and to also maintain good health.

In Ancient Egypt, one ‘cure’ involved reciting a magic spell to the sun god and then swallowing a mixture of onions, iron, red lead, honey and alabaster. Another popular hair loss remedy was to rub the fats of various animals onto the scalp. Clearly these were desperate times for hair growth.

In Japan researchers at Kanazawa University have come up with a set of audio headphones that have electrodes that produce a low frequency current which stimulates the scalp, improving blood flow to the hair follicles. You can listen to your favorite tunes and stimulate hair growth at the same time with that invention.

In the Amazon, the Taiwano Indians in the South American rainforests believed that scalp problems and hair loss could be treated with the heated extracts of bananas.

In Russia you can get your follicles drunk with a paste of honey, vodka and juice from an onion.

In 17th century Briton, British men were advised by a male health magazine at the time to apply chicken dung in their scalp to keep from going bald, and apply cat dung to remove hair from unwanted places.

In Victorian America the vigorous brushing of hair with a stiff brush was thought to promote soft and shiny hair, while soft hair brushes were believed to promote the hair growth. Also applying a concoction of cologne, spirit of camphor, and a pigment of cantharides each night was believed to prevent hair loss.

In Ancient Greece, Hippocrates, the famous Greek physician born in 460 BC, figured a paste of horseradish, cumin, pigeon droppings and nettles would prevent hair loss. He also studied eunuchs and found out that they had no pattern of baldness; although this is good news,  it would be unlikely to find a man who would sign up for a guaranteed cure for hair loss if the treatment meant castration.

Hair loss is a multi-factorial condition so there is no sure guaranteed treatment for hair loss. However, specially prescribed combinations of proven hair loss treatment ensure hair loss stabilization and hair regrowth in majority of the cases. As a hair loss sufferer, you can take solace in knowing that today you have treatments for hair loss only dreamed of by the Kings of ancient Egypt and the Emperors of Rome.
